A manufacturer of home air purifying equipment was sole sourced on an AC power module. The product was unique in that one single model was designed to snap into multiple panels of various thicknesses. Most manufacturers of such components design their modules to accept one thickness only, by means of using inserts in their tooling designed to set the module for the desired panel thickness. This is a problem if you are building several products with different panel thicknesses. A buyer would need to stock multiple SKU’s to accommodate each panel thickness.

ISL Products International Ltd., with the cooperation of it’s partner manufacturer, designed and tooled for a module with compatible features providing a drop in alternative to the previously single sourced module.

In addition to providing the customer with an alternative source for the module, ISL Products was able to provide a 45% cost reduction over the previous source.
